What is it?

The aim of the Expo is to provide students with a disability, their families, carers and teachers with appropriate and timely information and advice on:

  • Transition Planning
  • Career Pathways
  • Employment Services & Options
  • Further Education and Training
  • Funding Eligibility
  • Advocacy and Information Services
  • Employability Skills
  • Life Skills and Community Access Services

Who should attend?

The Expo is targeted at Year 9-12 students with a disability, their families, carers and teachers.  However, if you have a disability and have left school in the last few years, please consider coming along. 

Presentation Schedule

  • 3:15pm - Official Opening by Andrew Barr, ACT Minister for Education and Training, followed by talks by students and a parent about their transition from school experiences.
  • 4:00pm - Moving from High School to College
  • 4:30pm - Experiences in Community Access & Life Skills Services
  • 5:30pm - Experiences in Job Seeking and Employment
  • 6:30pm - Experiences in Further Education & Training

Guided Tours

This year's Expo will include the opportunity to take a short guided tour of the Expo Floor to help identify the range of services and supports available. The guided tours will take approximately 15 minutes. They will commence from 4pm, with a new tour starting every half-hour.

Cafe

The CC Stirling Cafe will be open throughout the Expo selling light refreshments.

A broad range of organisations and services will be attending the Expo. Please visit the Exhibitors page for a full list of participating organisations.
